<br>Volunteering is a wonderful way to impact a life at little to no cost to the volunteer. Volunteering can be done as individually, couple or as a family or a community. Serving together can change the lives of the volunteers as well as those they are serving. Currently there is high anxiety in urban America in regard to public safety, mental health, substance abuse, and even violence. If you are a victim of a violent crime it seems as if your world has been turned upside down and aside from the judicial system, there is nowhere else to turn for healing. <br><br>

This is where Mending Wings comes in, they have designed an event that collaborates with the community, businesses, local nonprofit organizations, public and private entities to host Gaines Day which creates rich, meaningful volunteer opportunities that promotes and builds vibrant, strong volunteering communities. Everyone knows someone that has passed away, this event gives them the opportunity to not only volunteer but to honor there departed loved one in a fun family-friendly environment. Mending Wings Inc. has several volunteer groups that meets once per month and go out and volunteer at various organizations. <br><br>Due to the pandemic there is an urgent need for disaster service workers/volunteers.
